About This Chart

Data Visualization Method

  • Data: Player of the Match (POM) selections from the 2025 LCK Regular Season. Each POM selection is counted as 100 points, so the value shown is a count of selections converted to points — not a performance rating.
  • Period and scope: Regular Season only, Rounds 1 through 5, arranged in match order (150 matches). Excludes the LCK Cup, playoffs and finals, and international events such as MSI and Worlds.
  • Selection: Every regular-season match awards one POM. Across the season, 49 players received at least one POM; the race view follows the leading names rather than the full field.
  • Processing: POM events were placed in match order and accumulated frame by frame (+100 to the selected player each match), rather than copying only the final totals. One tiebreaker match is retained in the underlying data but awards 0 official points. Internal match IDs were simplified on screen to the actual matchup and round.
  • Chart form: an animated cumulative bar race on a dynamic horizontal scale. Bar length encodes cumulative POM points; team logos sit at the bar ends as a tracking aid, while player names remain the primary identifier.

Creator's Note

The aim was to place the whole regular season on a single comparable track and show the process, not just the final table. A standings list only tells you where each player ended; a race also shows when someone pulled ahead and how the field behind them reshuffled.

Reading the frames in order, one player pulled clear early: Chovy finished on 1,400 points (14 POM selections), while the next group settled at 800 — a 600-point distance that the author reads as the season's defining feature. What kept the race interesting was the chasing pack, which changed order far more often than the top spot did. The intent is less to crown a season MVP than to ask how a lead like that is actually built, match by match.

Data Sources

Limitations

POM points are a count, not a rating. A total of 1,400 means fourteen POM selections at 100 points each; it is not a composite of KDA, damage, win rate, or any performance model. There is also no partial scoring — a match awards 100 points to the selected player only, and does not distribute 90 / 80 / 70 to others.

The race uses a dynamic scale, so a bar's absolute length in one frame is not directly comparable to its length in another. The chart is meant for reading relative position at a given moment and how the season unfolded, rather than for measuring one frame's bar against another's.

Coverage is limited to the regular season. The single tiebreaker POM is kept in the data but adds 0 official points, and playoffs and international events are not included. The visible race shows the leading players, not all 49 who earned at least one POM.

What This Chart Doesn't Show

It does not rank overall 2025 player quality. "Who dominated the POM race?" refers to POM selections specifically, and appears here only in that narrow sense — it does not fold in team results, position, playoff or international performance, All-LCK selections, or MVP voting.

POM points are also distinct from Regular Round MVP voting points, which come from a separate LCK Award and are counted on a different scale. Finally, the chart records an outcome rather than a cause: leading the race is what the data shows, not an explanation of why a given player was selected so often.
